Covent Garden offices of "The Lady" to be sold

One of Britain’s oldest magazine publications, The Lady, is set for a new lease of life as its owners put their Bedford Street offices up for auction.

The Victorian property has been in the same family since The Lady was first published in 1891, and is listed with auctioneers Allsop with a guide price of between £12.5 million and £13 million.

The current owner, Ben Budworth, is the great-grandson of the magazine’s founder, Thomas Bowles. The Victorian property in Covent Garden currently generates around £120,000 per annum from the office space and a further £50,000 from an apartment on the upper floors.
