Located on the south bank of the River Tyne, Gateshead is often overshadowed by its more illustrious neighbour Newcastle which sits across the river. But that is set to change as the town has revealed significant regeneration plans which are set to transform the area into one of the most dynamic business regions in the UK.
The centre of town is dominated by the waterfront which is home to the Sage concert venue and Baltic Centre Contemporary Art gallery. Several high-end restaurants and hotels are also located here. This area is set for significant redevelopment in the coming year’s which is to create an exciting range of offices, apartments and retail opportunities.
Currently, most businesses in the town are located in the Team Valley Trading Estate which is one of the largest trading estates in the UK. Accommodation here ranges from industrial units to low-cost business centres and campus-style office buildings. The park is currently home to more than 700 companies working in sectors such as light manufacturing, food production and technology.
