Manchester Office Space up 44%

In a recent study, 2018 take-up in Manchester was found to have risen by 44% from the previous year.
That was the second largest take-up after Glasgow at 52%, but when you consider that Glasgow is lagging behind at 962,921 square feet to Manchester’s 1,750,562, it’s clear that the former is the more significant finding.

So, why is this the case? Partly because Manchester had the highest office investment volume, increasing 8% from 2017 to £989 million in 2018.
Our conclusion? Brexit isn’t totally discouraging businesses from acquiring office space in major UK cities, with infrastructure a major factor in choice.
