NEW! Brand new serviced offices in Southampton are Open!
Calling all dynamic companies in Southampton looking to kick Covid into dust – we have the ultimate excuse to get back to work!
Opened on January 10th 2022 the newest office location in Southampton located in Grosvenor Square, is Mountbatten House.
The background to creating this serviced office is: “to inspire personal and professional growth, connecting individuals to a network of members and businesses,” and that reflected in every inch of the 10,000 sq ft office space at Mountbatten House.
Private Offices, Co-working & Meeting Space in Southampton
With private offices of varying sizes and meeting rooms outfitted with top-notch AV equipment, to lounges and large multipurpose breakout rooms with facilities to make coffee and tea, opportunities for efficient work and genuine community in equal measure are created. Initially launched in 2017 the provider’s dedication to achieving a blend of functionality and relaxation for optimal productivity is at the heart of all its operations. Occupying three floors, Mountbatten House boasts space for 150 desks while anticipating a tripling of that number, with a second phase slated for opening later in 2022.
Design-wise, the spaces are made with the incorporation of natural elements in mind, as evidenced by the use of reclaimed materials and many wide-open spaces letting sunlight in. This follows a trend towards the concept of ‘biophilia’ in interior design, citing benefits such as increased productivity and motivation, decreased stress as well as a better creative flow and concentration. The offices effortlessly blend these natural elements with what they term “calm neutral colours which nod to the city’s relationship with the water”, backing a statement given by Alexandra Brunner, chief operating officer at provider Clockwise.
Based on their unconventional focus on leisure amongst work, she talks about how this blended approach is at the heart of all Clockwise site designs and is further tailored to fit the personality and atmosphere of the city around it, so that the office space may become a home away from home, not just an office where work gets done.
The Mountbatten House location marks their 14th location and looks to be shaping up to be another success. Boasting office spaces across the UK and extending into mainland Europe, Clockwise seems confident in, and intent on, further expanding across the country and beyond. The company is cited to have seen a significant uptick of more than 200 per cent in demand for workspace since January 2020, despite the circumstances.
Brunner acknowledges this, saying, “The collective experience of working from home in the last 20 months has highlighted the need for more flexible working practices post-pandemic, but businesses still need central spaces that allow for productivity, collaboration and employee wellbeing all in equal measure.”
“Southampton is home to a thriving community of entrepreneurs, start-ups and growing businesses, so it was a natural decision for us to have a presence there at such an exciting time as we expand our southern business hub.”
This is reflected in other measures, such as how Southampton consistently and repeatedly ranks in the top 3 on PwC’s Good Growth for Cities index, which looks at the performance of more than 40 cities on 10 factors deemed paramount by the public for a city’s economic wellbeing.
This marriage between their vision and Southampton’s fertile business environment should prove to be a golden venture for both parties.
